Ceremonial Signing of ILP Agreements
Meralco Compound, Pasig City
January 30, 2015
Greetings
In addressing any kind of situation, it is only through collaboration and support can we truly solve our difficulties. Ever since we have been knowledgeable of the present conditions of the energy sector, we never rested; and true enough we have labored to assure the public that there will be at least minimal or no effect on the people’s lives.
The significance of this endeavor lies on our obligation to care for the Filipinos and to assure them that development is an unceasing quest that all must take. The Interruptible Load Program (ILP) is a program that was conceptualized and was put into action to solve our recurring challenges on electricity. It is not built to last, and as institutions that can change things for the better more is needed from us. We have in our table long-term programs that will eventually be the permanent answer to the situation. However we can’t wait for these projects to materialize since our need is now at the moment.
With this in mind, allow me to thank the 92 contestable customers who signified their intention to participate in the ILP. Your contribution in our task is a symbol of our strong partnership that is deeply rooted on our shared visions for the country. In the last months, the Department has been encouraging institutions to join in the program and be part of the greater solution. We never failed because of the support we have been receiving that is translated into signed documents signaling their participation. This event is a milestone that yearns to inspire us further.
It may be true that our challenges may somehow degrade our morals, but overcoming each and every one of them is an achievement that motivates us to do more and achieve more for our people. The partners we meet along the way are symbols of everyone’s concern for the country. May this occasion propel us to greater possibilities.
On behalf of the Department of Energy, congratulations and I look forward for your lasting support to the sector and people.
Thank you very much at mabuhay tayong lahat!
