PALECO Annual General Membership Assembly

Greetings
I would like first to express my gratitude to the officers and members of the PALECO for inviting the Department of Energy to take part in your Annual General Membership Assembly. The DOE is one with you in providing great services to our people that is founded on our mutual commitment to the country that is now in its way towards development. As an agency tasked on this, we are working hard to preserve this momentum and even tripling our efforts to achieve our objectives on time. As Secretary, one of the most valuable lessons I learned is that we cannot do this alone. We need the help of all our stakeholders including our member consumers whom we should accord our highest priority.
Being a cooperative entails a lot of responsibility and this does not only include our electrification programs which seem to be the main focus of all our endeavors. Besides this, is our desire to help our member-consumers in their day-to-day living. As an electric cooperative, we need to understand that the people play the most important role in all decisions, judgments and concerns. In fact this annual general membership is a time to report to the people the present state of the EC and how they can actively support all our initiatives and programs.
We are not only here to cite all the good news, rather tell the people how they can actively participate in all activities because all our services after all are for their development. Gone are the days when we are just focus on our work, our approach now must include all and I believe that this AGMA is an occasion for this change.
As you convene for your AGMA, my only wish is that this may be an avenue where good decisions will be made and programs conceived. Always remember your importance to the whole sector and assert your place in your community.
